Indian standup comedian Samay Raina continues to make waves on social media with his YouTube reality show India’s Got Latent. While some argue that Raina drew inspiration from the popular comedy podcast Kill Tony, Pakistan now has its own version of the show, Talent Got Pakistan.

A clip of the Pakistani show featuring a contestant trolling the organisers for keeping no prize money for the winner, unlike Raina’s show, has left the internet in stitches. “If you’re copying Samay Raina’s show, then why not copy the prize money too?” the contestant can be heard saying while the audience bursts into a loud laugh.

Responding to the contestant, one of the judges from the panel says, “India ki economy dekh (Look at India’s economy). Sharing the clip, an X user wrote, “Pakistanis copied Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. But they got roasted by the participants as the organisers could not afford prize money. Typical Pakistan.”

With over 5,67,000 views, the video garnered a sea of reactions. A user wrote, “Not taking anything away from Samay he is rocking the comedy scene but he got inspired by Kill Tony. Lots of similarities.”

Another user commented, “Pakistani inferiority complex and insecurity towards India is insane. Whatever good thing we do they try to make a cheap copy immediately. We made IPL, Shark tank, India got latent and they copied us to make kachra versions like psl, sharia tank and this pakistan talent thing.”

Last month, Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent received major flak after one of the contestants joked about Deepika Padukone’s depression battle and Kolkata’s R G Kar rape and murder case. Responding to the criticism, Raina shared the YouTube link to the episode, asking viewers to troll it on the video-streaming platform for more views.
