A dramatic scene unfolded at France’s Stade de Toulouse before the Champions Cup match between Toulouse and Sale, as a parachutist was left dangling from the roof following a pre-match display.
Three parachutists were deployed to deliver the match ball to the field as part of a light-hearted moment before the rugby match. While two of the parachutists successfully landed, the third — Captain Yannick Trouillet — was thrown off course by a sudden gust of wind and crash-landed on the stadium’s roof, leaving him dangling about 30 meters above the ground, Nine reported.
The crowd quickly became concerned as stadium staff swiftly evacuated Trouillet, and emergency crews prepared for a potential rescue operation. A large inflatable was brought in from outside the venue and laid down in case of a fall, the report added.
The match was delayed by 40 minutes as firefighters used a cherry picker to carefully reach Trouillet, untangle his parachute, and bring him safely to the ground. Fortunately, the rescue was successful, and Trouillet escaped unharmed.
In the now-viral video, shared by Daily Mail, the parachuter is seen attempting a landing when a sudden gust of wind changes the direction of his parachute, crashing him on the stadium’s roof.

The video quickly gained traction, prompting reactions from social media users. “Having the whole stadium and giant roof. And this dude landed on the edge to get stuck (laughing emoji),” a user wrote. “Maybe hire a more experienced parachutist,” another user commented.
“Parachutes are heavily dependent on wind conditions. Even professionals cant divert,” a third user chimed in.
Last year, a video of a paraglider landing abruptly during an event in Pakistan emerged on social media. The viral clip showed the paraglider making a landing through a trail of red and blue smoke from the parachute. The glider seemed to have mistimed his landing time and speed and landed straight in the first row, where the guests were seated.
