Comedian Austin Nasso recently went viral with a hilarious impersonation of US President-elect Donald Trump during a fictional visit to India. In the video, which has gone viral on social media, Nasso nails Trump’s mannerisms and tone while sharing observations that mix humour and cultural quirks.
The video opens with Nasso, in his Trump persona, marvelling at India’s iconic “tuk-tuks” (auto-rickshaws), remarking, “It’s incredible—they have tuk-tuks and tiny trucks. Wow. They’re so tiny, they’re like Legos.” With his characteristic style, he continues, “They have the most incredible cuisine we’ve ever seen. We love to see it,” even as the camera zooms in on the KFC and Starbucks outlets in the background.
His Trump impression expresses awe at Indian cities with names like “High-Tech City,” which he calls “sci-fi” and “incredible.”
In one of the standout moments, he is seen in Bengaluru’s Lalbagh garden. Channelling Trump’s voice, he exclaims, “We love the Lalbagh Botanical Garden. They have a lot of trees. And they also have plant and seed and also snail.” The humour continues with a hilarious quip about pigeons in the area: “I’m at the house of pigeons. Quite frankly, the pigeons have been abandoned by society. They are the stray dogs of the sky.”
