Those involved in the India’s Got Latent controversy––Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija––have been keeping a low profile for a while now. Now, however, a new video of Mukhija, also known as “The Rebel Kid,” has surfaced on Reddit, showing her stirring up some “drama” at a recent Sabrina Carpenter concert in Paris.
The video, originally posted on TikTok and later shared on Reddit, shows Mukhija enjoying herself, singing along and dancing to the songs. But it seems her constant use of camera flashes annoyed those around her. At one point, a security guard is seen shining a flashlight at her, signaling her to return to her seat.
The text overlay on the video, written in French, translates to: “POV: We were at the concert, she was filming her music video… The security guard asked her to go to her seat, but she didn’t care… Big flash in the face.”
Towards the end of the clip, she can be seen recording herself saying something, before muttering, “Main thappad mar doongi usko” (I will slap him), looking annoyed.
“Looks like she’s more than okay! Other fans in the comments of the tiktok said she yelled at them when they asked her to lower her voice and stop using the flash, and one even claimed she almost hit someone. Security reportedly had to step in, asking her to return to her seat because she kept moving around to film with the flash on,” the Redditor who posted the video wrote.
Redditors weren’t pleased. One commented, “Trash behavior as usual. Now let’s see how PR defends this by saying she can say her mind and it’s the patriarchal systems which is putting her down.”
Another wrote, “Ew. Just ew. Second-hand embarrassment. We don’t claim her, respectfully.” A third user commented, “Wow, I was actually rooting for this woman to make a comeback… but I guess I was too quick to do that.”
Mukhija was a guest panellist on the show hosted by Raina. During the episode, a question from Allahbadia to a contestant about “parents and sex” sparked massive outrage. Many viewers found it offensive, leading to multiple FIRs being filed against the panlists.
Recently, Mukhija recorded her statement with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell. Amid the backlash, she also unfollowed other panelists on Instagram. Despite the turmoil, she made her acting debut in Nadaaniyaan on Netflix, starring alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor.
