The mid-range smartphone segment has been fiercely competitive in the last few months. While some phones offer great value for money, others focus on a bloatware-free software experience. However, things can get really complex if you are trying to find a phone that does it all under Rs 20,000. From the recently launched Redmi 12 5G to the Samsung Galaxy M34, here are some of the best options in the under Rs 20,000 price bracket.

Redmi 12 5G

Xiaomi’s recently launched Redmi 12 5G (review) also happens to be its most pocket-friendly 5G phone to date. Sporting a glass back, the phone looks and feels premium and is pretty fast, thanks to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which performs similar to last year’s Snapdragon 695.

It is the first phone in the country to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.

The Redmi 12 5G packs a dual camera setup that consists of a 50MP shooter accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. While the primary sensor can take good photos during the daytime, it underperforms at night, which is pretty common at this price bracket. If you are looking for a budget 5G phone that can easily last a few years, the Redmi 12 5G is one of the best options for Rs 11,999.

Samsung Galaxy M34

Looking for a mid-range device that can easily last you almost half a decade? Samsung’s latest M-series device – Galaxy M34 (review) might appeal to you. Powered by the Exynos 1280 chipset, the phone packs a 6,000mAh battery that can easily last you a day or more even if you are a heavy user.

While the phone does not offer the best performance or cameras for its asking price, Samsung says the Galaxy M34 will get 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security patches, something which currently no other smartphone manufacturer offers in the price bracket.

Galaxy M34 will get 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches.

The Galaxy M34 is a great choice for those who want a phone that performs pretty well in all areas, receives frequent updates and has a clean user interface. It starts from Rs 18,999, but you can save some money with bank offers.

Motorola G73

The Motorola G73 is a solid choice for those who want 5G connectivity and a bloatware-free near-stock Android experience. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset, the phone comes with a 50MP camera backed by an 8MP ultrawide lens.

Like all other phones in the segment, it has a 5,000mAh battery and a charger in the box. Also, it comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. If you are looking for a phone that can multitask without issues and can overlook the LCD screen, the Motorola G73 is a solid mid-range 5G phone that gives users a run for their money. It can be purchased from Flipkart for Rs 16,999.

Poco X5 Pro

Launched earlier this year, the Poco X5 Pro (review) might not be the fastest or the flashiest phone on the list, but the recent price cut makes it a good option for those on a budget. Sporting the Snapdragon 778 chipset, which also powers the Nothing Phone (1).  the device can easily handle multitasking and comes with a 120Hz AMOLED screen.

Poco X5 Pro is powered by the same processor found on the Nothing Phone (1).

On the camera front, it comes with a 108MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. As for the primary sensor, it performs really both during day and night time. If you can ignore the bit-dated processor and the plastic back, the Poco X5 Pro is one of the best phones you can buy for under Rs 20,000.

Currently, Flipkart is selling the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant for Rs 20,999, but the price often drops down to 19,999 with offers, so you might have to wait a while.

Infinix GT 10 Pro

Inifnix has been launching a lot of new mid-range phones lately, but the one that stands out from the competition is the GT10 Pro. Designed for mobile gamers, the phone takes inspiration from the Nothing Phone (1)’s transparent back panel. It is powered by the Dimensity 8050 chipset and comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Infinix advertises the GT 10 Pro as a gaming phone.

The device runs on XOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box and offers solid performance even if you play games for hours on end. If you are looking for a phone that looks unique and don’t mind the lack of software updates, the Infinix GT 10 Pro (review) is a solid phone that delivers on almost fronts, be it gaming or multitasking. It can be purchased from Flipkart for Rs 19,999.
