Meta has added aray of new features to its messaging platform, WhatsApp Messenger. The three features consist of Live and Motion photos, new backgrounds with Meta AI, new chat themes with Meta AI, new sticker packs, easier group search and document scanning on Android. Here is what all the features can do.
Users can now share more realistic moments with friends on any platform by sharing Live Photos (iOS) and Motion Photos (Android), which capture life as it is, complete with sound and motion.
Meta added Chat Themes earlier this year, allowing users to personalise their conversations. Users may now create their own unique chat themes and unleash their creativity with Meta AI. Additionally, with Meta AI, users can now create original backdrops for their video conversations, which can either place them in their preferred environment or allow them to try something new.
Additionally, AI backdrops may be added while shooting pictures and videos in conversations. But currently, it will not be available ot all users, and they will have access to these Meta AI features.
To make their conversations more lively and expressive, WhatsApp has introduced new sticker packs featuring stickers with characters that convey emotions without words, such as those from the Fearless Bird, School Days, or Vacation packs.
Group chat names can occasionally become so creative that they are difficult to recall. They can now view the groups they share by simply searching for a familiar member on their Chats page.
Android document scanning: On Android smartphones, users can now scan, crop, store, and transmit documents straight from WhatsApp (the iPhone already has this feature).
And through recent reports, it has also come to light that WhatsApp is testing a new feature that organises message replies into threaded conversations, aimed at improving the user experience in both group and individual chats. This feature is currently available for some beta testers on the latest WhatsApp beta for Android.
When users respond to a message, a new thread is created automatically, allowing a complete overview of replies within that thread. However, replies sent before the thread creation will not be included, but will be added for structure. The rollout for all users is expected in the coming weeks or months as the feature is still being tested.
