Chennai Super Kings were eliminated from the IPL 2025 Playoffs race after the MS Dhoni-led five-time champions were eliminated by the Punjab Kings on Wednesday evening. The Chennai franchise lost their fifth straight match at the Chepauk, previously a fortress for them. This is a new low for CSK as they have now missed the playoffs in back to back seasons. Last season also, they were knocked out after a high profile loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
