Rajasthan Royals superstar Jos Butler arrived in India on Tuesday to join his team camp for the upcoming Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2023 season, and his first three words after arriving were, “Where is Yuzi?”.
The franchise posted the video on its social media handle and captioned it: “Jos is here, and so are his three magic words 😂.”
On Monday, in another post by the franchise, Yuzvendra Chahal said, “Jos Bhai, I’m waiting for you.” The friendship between the duo has been well documented in the past through their social media posts.
Their on-field exploits helped Rajasthan Royals reach the final of the last IPL season where they succumbed to Gujarat Titans. However, Butler won the orange cap with 863 runs, and Chahal won the purple cup with 27 wickets.
Meanwhile, the Royals will look to go one more step forward from the last season and lift the trophy this time. Hence they have continued to show faith in the coaching staff from the last season.
Kumar Sangakkara will continue to serve in the dual role of Rajasthan Royals’ director of cricket and head coach, and will be assisted by Trevor Penney, the franchise said earlier this month.
Fellow Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga also continues with the franchise as fast bowling coach, along with Zubin Bharucha as strategy, development and performance director, Giles Lindsay as head of analytics and technology, Siddhartha Lahiri as support coach and Dishant Yagnik as fielding coach.
Rajasthan Royals will start their IPL 2023 campaign on April 2 in Hyderabad against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The royals have been crowned champions in the inaugural season of the IPL.
