India captain Rohit Sharma’s latest post with his young teammates has won over social media following their resounding 4-1 series win over England in Dharamsala on Saturday.

India thrashed England within three days of play at the HPCA Stadium to secure an innings and 64-run victory and cemented their spot at the top of the World Test Championship standings.

Rohit, who did not take the field, on the third day due to a stiff back took to social media platform Instagram and posted a picture with young batters Sarfaraz Khan, Shubman Gill, Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal, captioning the frame, ”Garden mein ghoomne wale bande.”

Besides providing exciting cricket action, the series has thrown up viral content of Rohit’s candid comments recorded by the stump microphone. “I stand in the slips as it is easier for me to control the game and talk to my players. Since I am close to the stumps, my comments are caught by the mic,” Rohit said recently during an event ahead of the Dharamsala Test.

In the absence of senior pros Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Mohammad Shami, Rohit has shepherded a young team to a come-from-behind series win after the hosts dropped the first Test in Hyderabad. India handed as many as five debuts in the series with Sarfaraz, Jurel, Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal and Akash Deep making their maiden Test appearances.

Young left-hander Jaiswal was adjudged the Player of the Series after he stacked up 712 runs in the series at an average of 89, obliterating numerous records along the way. Rohit also had a fruitful series after poor outings in the first two Tests, finishing with 400 runs in nine innings.
