Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan got married in a grand ceremony in Kabul on Thursday. Three of Rashid’s brothers also tied their knots on the same night.

The event was attended by most of Afghanistan’s national team players, including Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Fazallaq Farooqui and Mujeeb Ur Rehman.

“Congratulations to the one and only King Khan, Rashid Khan, on your wedding! Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, and success ahead. @rashidkhan_19,” wrote Nabi on X.

In many ways, Afghanistan’s cricketing journey is Rashid’s journey, intertwined and inseparable. Rashid Khan is Afghanistan’s cricketing icon and identity. Rashid also defines his country’s cricketing ethos; he defined their dream runs in the ODI and T20 World Cups.

Rashid Khan had played a pivotal role for Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup, where they secured their first semi-final appearance. Rashid picked up 14 wickets in the tournament.

Recently, the Afghan’s talisman has taken a break from Test cricket.

Rashid Khan was been ruled out of Afghanistan’s one-off Test against New Zealand, which got abandoned without a ball being bowled. Rashid has also skipped Afghanistan’s ODI series against Sri Lanka and Ireland played in February and March.

The 26-year-old also sustained a hamstring injury while playing for Trent Rockets in the men’s Hundred tournament.

However, Rashid played the bilateral series against South Africa, which Afghanistan won by 2-1.
