India 5th Test Match Predicted Playing 11 vs England, Full Squad: India will be looking to avoid a series defeat at the Oval as they go into the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy trailing 2-1. They have momentum with them, having drawn the fourth Test against all odds. However, they may have to get used to the fact that they are likely to be without two of their most consistent players of the past five years with Rishabh Pant injured and Jasprit Bumrah set to sit out.

Captain Shubman Gill didn’t make any clear suggestions as to whether Bumrah will play the fifth Test or not in his press conference on the eve of Day 1. However, it is certain that the Indian team sticks to its decision of only playing their pace spearhead for three Tests, it could mean that they could potentially have to make two changes in their fast bowling lineup.
A report from Sandeep Dwivedi, The Indian Express’ man on the ground in London for the Oval Test, mentioned the changes that India are likely to make for the fifth Test: Karun Nair to replace Shardul Thakur; Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah miss out.
Gill said that Akash Deep is fit to play and so he becomes the obvious replacement for Bumrah. Meanwhile, Anshul Kamboj made a rather forgettable start to his Test career so it is likely that he will make way. Gill said that India asked Arshdeep Singh to get ready, while cushioning that statement up by saying that a final call on the playing eleven will be taken only after they take a look at the pitch later in the day.
Pant’s obvious replacement is Dhruv Jurel, who will finally get to bat in the series after filling in behind the stumps for most of the last two Tests. It also means that India will be reluctant to let to go of any kind of batting depth. Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja — after their gritty centuries they scored to power India’s fight at Old Trafford — are obviously set to remain in the team.
