Jitesh Sharma's stocks seem to have risen in India's T20I set-up, midway through the tour to Australia when he replaced Sanju Samson in the middle-order. Jitesh's lower-order pyrotechnics have been well documented through the IPL and he indeed produced a sensational knock behind Suryavanshi in the opening game when India A put on a mammoth 297 on the board. They will need more of that tonight from the captain and it might only bolster his credentials in the Indian set-up altogether.

Vaibhav's unrelenting carnage on the UAE bowlers last week even had veterans in the domestic game gob-smacked. Gujarat legend Priyank Panchal it was only a matter of time before Vaibhav is put on the fast lanes to the Indian senior team. “This is simply insane. I’ve a feel Vaibhav will be fast-tracked into the senior team within two years. Whether that’s a right call or not, only time will tell. I’ll hold back such temptations for a while. But such performances are simply too exemplary to be ignored,” Panchal had written on social media, shortly after Suryavanshi pumped 15 sixes and 11 fours in Doha.

Thirty minutes to the Toss and India will be hoping to have a clinical outing tonight and rekindle themselves ahead of Friday's potential semi-finals. The seamers did not quite have a successful outing against Pakistan but India's lead seamers have all been proven talent in the domestic circuit.

India A have gone in with Gurjapneet Singh and Yash Thakur in the previous games, but it would not be a bad idea to have a look in at the tall J&K seamer Yudhvir Singh or Karnataka's Vijaykumar Vyshak as well this evening.

The lower-order hasn't quite had the time to have a hit out in the middle in all the Suryavanshi dazzle but Ashutosh Sharma squandered a golden opportunity in his previous outing against Pakistan. May be the nerves were jangling. Ashutosh had to recede back to the dugout with a six-ball dugout when Pakistan triggered a collapse from out of nowhere. His power-hitting skills were vital to Delhi Capitals life in the death overs last season and it might just be a matter of time before he begins to click in the India blues.

Perhaps with all of the spotlight falling entirely on his young opening partner, Priyansh Arya could have had it easy to dominate the opposition attacks. However, the Delhi left-hander has struggled to get on with the runs in the last two innings, falling on 10 against both UAE and Pakistan.

It is not that the southpaw has been out of fom either. Priyansh relished a fluent Ranji Trophy debut for Delhi recently and even struck a century against Australia A in his List A debut last monh in Kanput.

Last week, Vaibhav Suryavanshi's colossal 42-ball 144 composed of 134 runs in boundaries, the second-highest percentage of runs through fours and sixes in a T20 century!

Suryavanshi also became the first male cricketer to record two T20 tons in under 35 balls, blasting one in 32 deliveries.

With still a sizeable of his teens ahead of him, it is only a matter of time before he becomes the most successful teenage bat in T20 history.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's precocious feats wowed everyone who checked in on the IPL 2025 season. Within a season of butchering the U-19 circuit, Suryavanshi was feasting on India's premier bowlers in the Rajasthan Royals jersey. Last week, he went on an almighty tear as he walloped UAE's bowlers in India A's campaign opener in Doha. Breaking a slew of world and Indian records, Suryavanshi clearly showed how he is a cut above the rest and belonged to a level above his teenage peers.

Ahead of the latest contest, even Oman's Indian-born cricketers were left wondering whether he is indeed only 14 years old.

"We've only seen Vaibhav Suryavanshi on TV, and now we'll be playing against him," Aryan Bisht told in a chat with the Times of India.

"When you're 14 and you're able to hit the ball that far, that's just exceptional talent. It's something not everybody can do - definitely something I couldn't do at that age. 14 saal ke ho, kaise maarte ho ye chakke? [At 14, how are you smashing those sixes?] He's really talented and very good, so I'm really looking forward to playing against him," he added.

Jitesh Sharma will have to bring in his A-game as captain and batter tonight, even if the young side may be taking on a slightly depleted attack in Oman tonight. Some words of wisdom from the 32-year-old for his young teammates ahead of the game.
