A day before Virat Kohli’s birthday, West Indian legend Brian Lara praised the Indian skipper and said that he is happy to find that cricket has found its new leader. Praising the batsman, who has been in supreme form since his introduction to the game, the former Lara said, “Whatever Kohli is doing today is phenomenal. The rate of scoring, his fitness, and the importance he gives to a lot of different things. It is great to see that the game has a leader at this moment.” So far Kohli’s career can be summed as a sensational phenomenon where he has scored 6331 runs in 73 Tests, 10232 runs in 216 ODIs and 2102 in 62 T20s.

Recently, Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs. The Indian captain achieved the milestone in just 205 innings, bettering Sachin Tendulkar’s previous record of 259 innings. however, the Indian captain said that even after breaking records at will he does not feel any “sense of entitlement”.
“It’s a great honour for me to represent my country and even after playing 10 years, I don’t feel like I am entitled for anything here. You still have to work hard for every run that you score at the international level,” Kohli said in a chat on BCCI.TV.
