Virat Kohli’s undying hunger to succeed does not seem like stopping anytime soon. Be it Test, ODI or T20’s, Kohli is the King of all formats. In a career spanning over a decade, the Delhi boy has been performing with extraordinary consistency and rewriting records at will. On Monday, India’s premier batsman and numero uno across the world turns 30 and seems all set to conquer the world for another decade. Presently, Kohli is on a break from international cricket.  But the rate at which he has toppled records is mind-boggling. On his special day, let’s take a look back at the top 10 numbers-

# Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 runs in the 50-over format. Kohli achieved the milestone in just 205 innings, bettering Sachin Tendulkar’s previous record (259 innings. He is also on top of the list of batsmen with the most number of runs in ODI’s in 2018.  He is also the quickest to reach the landmark (in terms of balls faced). Kohli took just 10813 balls to score 10000 ODI runs.

# Virat Kohli this year also smashed Hashim Amla’s record the become fastest cricketer to score 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year. The South Africa cricketer had achieved this feat in 15 innings back in 2010.

# Virat Kohli is the first cricketer to slam three consecutive hundreds against two opponents (West Indies, Sri Lanka).

# As a captain, Virat Kohli is the fastest to reach 8000 runs (137 innings) international cricket.

# The Delhi dasher has accumulated more than 300 runs in a bilateral ODI series on six different occasions.

# Virat Kohli also holds the record of scoring the maximum centuries while chasing. The Indian skipper has completed 18 tons while chasing down a total.

# The Indian skipper also completed 1000 runs in the longest format of the game in this calendar year. This is the third consecutive year when Kohli has managed to score more than 1000 runs in one year. The right-handed batsman smashed 1215 runs in 2016 and added another 1059 runs in the following year.

# Virat Kohli has also amassed 1,202 runs from 14 matches at a staggering average of 133.55.

# Virat Kohli has now scored 24 centuries in his Test career. Apart from that, he also became quickest Indian batsman to score 24 Test centuries. Kohli scored his 24th ton in 123rd innings, breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who batted 125 times.

# Kohli holds the record of scoring the most 50-plus score in T20I. He has crossed the 50-run mark on 18 occasions. He also holds the record of scoring the maximum runs while chasing in T20I. This record was previously held by New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum.
