Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav Saturday arrived in Pune, where he will address a gathering of former AAP members on Sunday as part of the Swaraj Samvad movement which he, along with Prashant Bhushan, had launched after they fell out with the party’s convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
According to Maruti Bhapkar, a former AAP leader, around 500 former members of the party are expected to attend Sunday’s meeting at Pimpri Chinchwad, which is aimed at setting the road map for the movement. This is Yadav’s first visit to Pune after his acrimonious exit from AAP, of which he was a founding member.

After the split in AAP in Delhi, its unit in Maharashtra had also seen exodus of members. Bhapkar, along with more than 300 party members, had quit the party. Since then, these leaders have started helping build the Swaraj Samvad movement and have appealed to AAP members to join them.
Talking to reporters Saturday, Bhapkar said Yadav and Bhusan had earlier raised objections about AAP candidates with questionable credentials, which were not taken seriously by Kejriwal. Bhapkar said the Bhushan-Yadav duo had also opposed the candidature of Jitendra Tomar, the former Delhi law minister who is now in police custody on charges of obtaining a fake degree.
