Vote us back… no one will dare attack Ram Navami procession: Amit Shah in Bengal

The TMC hit back with a Twitter post saying a “seasonal bird is here in Bengal but no one wants to see it… no one in Bengal is interested in your trash-talk, your lies, your hate-laden agenda. Go spew venom elsewhere”

Claiming that “appeasement politics” of the TMC “emboldened” people to target Ram Navami processions, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Friday that once West Bengal sends 35 BJP MPs to Lok Sabha and the party is able to form a government in the state, “no one will dare attack a Ram Navami procession in Bengal”.

Addressing a public meeting at Suri in Birbhum district, Shah urged people to return Prime Minister Narendra Modi to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and said once that happens, the TMC government in West Bengal will collapse.

“To stop Didi (Mamata Banerjee) and Bhatija (nephew Abhishek Banerjee), the BJP is the only way forward. To put an end to violence, cow smuggling and infiltration in West Bengal, the BJP is the only way forward. I appeal to you, give us at least 35 seats in West Bengal in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. If you give us 35 seats, then the TMC government will not survive beyond 2025,” he said.

“Ram Navami processions were attacked recently in Rishra, Howrah. I want to ask, shouldn’t Ram Navami processions be taken out in West Bengal? How come Ram Navami processions are not taken out peacefully in Bengal? Because of the appeasement politics of the Trinamool Congress, some have been emboldened. I want to assure you that once you give Modiji 35 Lok Sabha seats from Bengal and vote the BJP to power… no one will dare attack a Ram Navami procession in Bengal,” he said.

“Didi does not work for the poor people of the state. Her only aim is to make her bhatija the next Chief Minister of Bengal. Here, benefits of social welfare schemes do not reach the poor. Crores of rupees are being found from the house of its leaders and ministers. ED had to bring in two trucks to seize crores of rupees. You tell me, if crores of rupees are found from their homes, shouldn’t they be put in jail? Have some shame, TMC. Have some shame,” he said.

The TMC hit back with a Twitter post saying a “seasonal bird is here in Bengal but no one wants to see it… no one in Bengal is interested in your trash-talk, your lies, your hate-laden agenda. Go spew venom elsewhere”.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, “Amit Shah had a flop show today. No one in Bengal or Birbhum gave importance to his meeting… This time it will be a struggle for the BJP to even open its account with one Lok Sabha seat.”
