Whether you are a stay-at-home or working mom, looking after the child after fulfilling other commitments hardly leaves much ‘me-time’ for self-care. This can make you feel exhausted and stressed.

For every mother who craves a little more of ‘me-time’, here are some hacks to help you get it:

1. Share duties with your partner

Do not try to take up all responsibilities of the child alone. It is important to trust your partner and share some duties. And while your partner takes care of the child, you can utilise the time to relax or do things that interest you.

2. Make use of nap time

Moms generally keep the baby’s nap time for completing household chores. Instead, you can use it sometimes to read, write a blog, watch a movie or even sleep. New moms can follow these tips to cope with sleep problems.

3. Hire help

Get a reliable sitter to take care of the baby for some time while you invest it on self-care and de-stress.

4. Say no to extra activities

You cannot turn up for every family gathering or party and other commitments if you want to get some ‘me-time’. It is necessary to say ‘No’ to a few activities so that it leaves you some personal time to enjoy.

5. Schedule your priorities

Following a daily schedule will ensure you complete things on your to-do list on time and do not find yourself overloaded with work. Scheduling priorities also includes setting some time for personal activities like jogging or exercising or pursuing a hobby.

6. Make a mom team

You can arrange play dates for your kids with those of other friends and neighbours while you enjoy an outing with the moms. You can also pick a certain date and take turns to watch the kids, giving the others a break for a while.
