Chhattisgarh receives investment proposals worth Rs 33,321 crore at Investors Connect Meet in Ahmedabad

At the Ahmedabad Investors Connect Meet, Chhattisgarh bagged ₹33,321 crore in fresh investments across power, green steel, pharma, and semiconductor sectors, creating over 10,532 jobs.

Chhattisgarh has received fresh investment proposals worth Rs 33,321 crore, expected to create over 10,532 new jobs, during the Investors Connect Meet held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Leading industrialists exchanged Letters of Intent (LoIs) with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for major investments spanning green steel manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical food supplements, semiconductors, thermal and solar energy, and healthcare sectors.

The largest proposal came from Torrent Power Ltd, Ahmedabad, pledging an investment of Rs 22,900 crore to set up a 1600 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh.

Torrent Power’s Vice Chairman Jinal Mehta said the project will generate over 5,000 job opportunities, significantly boosting the region’s employment and energy capacity.

Addressing top industrialists, Sai praised Gujarat as “the land of enterprise and innovation” while inviting investors to explore opportunities in Chhattisgarh.

“Enterprise is embedded in every particle of Gujarat. While Gujarat symbolizes enterprise, Chhattisgarh brings to the table rich energy resources, minerals, skilled manpower, and an attractive industrial policy,” the Chief Minister said.

He added that Chhattisgarh has implemented over 350 reforms in the past 22 months to simplify industrial operations. Single-window clearances now ensure NOCs are processed swiftly, and special grants are available for tribal districts like Bastar and Surguja.

The Chief Minister shared that investment proposals worth over Rs 7.5 lakh crore have already been received under the new industrial policy.

Chhattisgarh ranks second in India in coal production and recently secured ₹3.5 lakh crore worth of investment proposals at the Energy Summit. The state’s natural strengths in thermal, hydel, solar, and forest-based industries continue to attract global investors.
