NEW DELHI, JANUARY 6: In the first of a series of damage-control measures to salvage the faction-ridden Congress in Haryana, senior state leaders and party workers today tried to present a united front for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
The meeting — which was interestingly convened on “neutral territory”, at the residence of Delhi Jat leader Sajjan Kumar was attended by most senior and warring leaders of the state, including PCC chief B.S. Hooda, former chief minister Bhajan Lal, former PCC chiefs S.S. Surjewala and Virendra Singh and the party MP from Meerut, Avatar Singh Bhadana.
Also present was the newly-appointed general secretary incharge of the state, Motilal Vora, and his deputy at the AICC, V Narayanswamy, along with a host of office-bearers of the state.
