Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadavs Samajwadi Party government in UP,Gujarat CM Narendra Modi on Thursday attacked it for poor amenities in the state.
Criticising Akhilesh for neglecting the need for pure water though there were several rivers,the BJP PM aspirant addressing a rally here said,We have laid pipelines so huge that Akhilesh along with his family in Maruti car can sit and drive through the pipeline. We just have river Narmada and pipelines till Pakistan border where the last soldier of Indian army stands. We have provided water in the desert. Agra,despite being on the banks of river Yamuna,is still striving to get fresh water.
Modi launched an attack on SP and BSP,which can dent BJPs chances in UP. He said,SP and BSP stole vote bank politics tactics from Congress. The result was competition among such parties and it is because of Congress that SP and BSP came into being.
He said Gujarat used to receive migrants from all of UP but Agra and now even Agra residents have started leaving Agra. Why cant you have schemes that will help farmers of UP that will add value to their work like we did in Gujarat? You too should have electricity. If BJP is voted to power,your next generation will have a better life, said the Gujarat CM. Modi,hinting at a minority tilt by the Congress said the party focused on 25 percent population and neglected 75 percent.
Kashmir and India are governed by two laws. It made two states fight over water,broke Vande Mataram into two pieces,divided north and south,and urban areas and villages and all this has been learnt by SP and BSP in UP, said Modi,who is under criticism from the Congress for distorting history and twisting facts in his campaign speeches.
He recalled a scam by an NGO allegedly affiliated with a Congress minister,and addressing a crowd at Kothi Meena Bazar ground accused the Congress of taking voters for granted.
