Reliance Infrastructure net profit up 8%

Reliance Infrastructure reported a rise in consolidated quarter profit to Rs 405 cr.

Reliance Infrastructure today reported an 8 per cent rise in consolidated first quarter (Q1 result) net profit to Rs 405.39 crore from Rs 375.29 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

Total operating income of the company also rose to Rs 5,191 crore during the April-June,2011,period from Rs 3,751.84 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal,it said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company’s electricity business accounted for Rs 3,325.44 crore of total operating income,followed by the EPC and contract business (Rs 1,754.08 crore). The remaining operating income came from the infrastructure vertical of the company.

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group firm said during the quarter,it bought back 21 lakh shares from the open market for Rs 265.31 crore.

It had debt of Rs 13,300 crore on a consolidated basis as of June 30 and a debt-equity ratio of 0.55. Company INFO
