In an unprecedented gesture,President Pratibha Patil presented a cake to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah on his 78th birthday on Sunday. Patil is on a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh during which she will inaugurate the celebrations to mark the 500th anniversary of the coronation of Srikrishnadevraya,the king of the Vijayanagara Empire.

The President,who flew in from Mumbai to Hyderabad,carried the five kg black forest cake from Mumbai. She presented the cake to Rosaiah in Hyderabads Jubilee Hall Garden. Sources in the Rashtrapati Bhavan said that it was for the first time ever that the President had made such a gesture.
