BSP MLA Purushottam Naresh Dwivedi,who was arrested on Thursday on rape charges,has threatened to take revenge on the opposition parties for implicating him in a false case.
Un partiyon se badla liya jayega jinhone hame is case main phansaya hai (Revenge will be taken from the parties,which have got me framed in this case), he told reporters before he was taken to the Banda district jail Thursday night.
Dwivedi,48,who represents Naraini seat,was on the run after orders for his arrest were issued on Thursday in connection with the alleged assault on a 17-year-old dalit girl. The MLA was later sent to 14 days in judicial remand by the chief judicial magistrate.
The girl,who has been in a jail here for the past one month on theft charges was produced on Friday in the local court which extended her judicial custody till January 27. Civil Judge Ravi Kumar Gupta fixed January 27 as the next date of hearing.
The girl was allegedly raped on December 10,11,at the legislators residence. She escaped from the MLAs house on December 12 when he allegedly attempted rape for the third time. She was arrested same day on theft charges following a complaint by Dwivedis brother at Attara police station.
While the MLAs two aides Rajendra Shukla and Surendra Neta have been arrested,the third accused Ravan Garg is still absconding.
