India to emerge least affected from crisis: PM

India's economy is estimated to grow 7.1 pct in 2008/09,below 9.0 pct in the previous year.

The Indian economy will emerge as the least affected from the global economic crisis,Prime Minister said in a statement read out in parliament on Thursday.

India’s economy is estimated to grow 7.1 per cent in 2008/09,below 9.0 per cent in the previous year,as the global economic slowdown is expected to hurt key sectors such as real estate,automobiles and construction.
