Governor to decide on BSY prosecution in two days

The fresh sparring comes on the heels of Yeddyurappa accusing the Governor of trying to prejudge him on corruption.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday fielded seven Cabinet ministers to defend him after Governor H R Bhardwaj referred to attacks on the Raj Bhavan by the BJP government as a case of a thief accusing the police in a continuing battle between the Yeddyurappa-led BJP government and the Governor. The fresh sparring comes on the heels of Yeddyurappa accusing the Governor of trying to prejudge him on corruption while moving to permit the CM’s prosecution on the basis of a complaint filed by two lawyers against Yeddyurappa, his sons and Home Minister R Ashok.

The Governor,on the sidelines of a book release function on Thursday, said that he could make a decision on the plea for permission to prosecute the CM for corruption within the next two days and added that he was waiting for some more documents.

Asked about the letter written by the CM to the Governor accusing him of prejudging the issue,Bhardwaj said the situation amounted to a thief blaming the police. Soon after Bhardwajs remarks,Yeddyurappa sent out seven of his ministers to defend him.

The Governor, through comments unbecoming of a constitutional head, has brushed our honest offer for reconciliation, said Law Minister Suresh Kumar.
