CHANDIGARH, Aug 5: Four-time winners Kherar Club, Halldowal, Jian and hosts Nangal Khilarian enter the quarter-finals of the 19th Punjab Rural Junior Soccer Tournament at Nangal Khilarian.
In the pre-quarter-final matches, Kherar bat Rahalli 2-0, Halldowal crushed Sasoli 3-0; Jian edged out Kaharpur 4-3 on penalties and Nangal Khilarian outplayed Maili 2-0.
Athletic trials
The HAAA will conduct selection trials on August 10 at Hisar, according to association secretary H S Bhadu. The Haryana teams will be selected for the North Zone Junior Athletic Championship to be held at Allahabad on August 20 and 21.
Meanwhile, the Haryana Government has revoked the suspension of HS Bhadu, deputy director, Haryana Sports Department. He resumed his duty at Chandigarh today.
