India, today, rejected Pakistani police’s charges that Indian agents may have plotted Wednesday’s killings of seven Christians in Karachi.

‘‘They do not have any proof of the involvement of any Indian agency,’’ External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said at a news conference in Malaysia. Sindh police said on Thursday that no evidence was found to suggest that Islamic militants were behind the killings and that there were a ‘‘few indications’’ that Indian intelligence was involved.

‘‘I strongly deny this insinuation and in fact I go to the extent of condemning it because it is an irresponsible statement on the part of the Pakistani authorities,’’ said Sinha, who is on the last day of a two-day visit to Malaysia.
