PATNA, FEB 13: Bihar Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari today directed senior civil and police officials to initiate effective and strong measures to improve the law and order situation and hinted at a large-scale reshuffle in the bureaucratic setup to tone up the State administration.
“Total security to the people will be my first priority. We should ensure safe movement of women in their localities and children reaching their schools safely,” Bhandari, who took over the reins of the State after imposition of President’s rule, told officials at a review meeting on the prevailing law and order situation. He told officials that while he had no doubt about the efficacy of bureaucracy in the State, they should perform to the best of their ability to instil confidence in the people that “there is a government worth the name in Bihar.”
