Hollywood star Jamie Foxx is “finally” starting to feel like himself, following an unspecified medical complication that left him hospitalised earlier this year.

The Oscar-winning actor took to Instagram to share a health update and expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of his fans during this challenging period in his life.

The 55-year-old actor-singer said that the past months had been “an unexpected dark journey” and that he was grateful for all those who had reached out in support.

Known for his films like Django Unchained, Foxx had previously said he had been “to hell and back” after experiencing a “medical complication” in April.

Posting a carousel of photos portraying his vibrant spirit, Foxx shared a series of snapshots of himself exuding positivity. Dressed in a casual shirt, accessorised with a cute, crocheted bucket hat and oversized sunglasses, the actor held onto a pair of red Crocs and captioned the photo, “You’re looking at a man who is thankful… finally starting to feel like myself… it’s been an unexpected dark journey… but I can see the light…”

Extending his gratitude towards his well-wishers, he further wrote, “I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don’t know how much it meant… I will be thanking all of you personally…”

Demonstrating his faith in God, he wrapped up his note with the words, “GOD IS GOOD… all day every day…”

Fellow celebrities offered their well wishes in the comment section. Marvel star Jeremy Renner, who sustained serious injuries following a snow plough accident in January, wrote, “Bless you my friend,” while Tamar Braxton wrote, “Brother I know that feeling!!! It only gets better from here! Thank God” with red heart emojis.

According to Us Weekly, Foxx’s daughter Corinne had previously revealed that her father was facing “medical complications,” though the specific details about the condition remain hidden.

Previously, Foxx had shared a video in July, stating that he had faced a tough time, but did not want people to see him when he was sick. He wanted them to remember him being happy and funny.
