The love for bell peppers is widely shared due to their appealing colours and delightful flavours, making them a favoured food choice across the globe. However, the process of chopping these peppers can be a bit hard. The thick flesh and numerous seeds can make a mess in your kitchen. As such, people often look for simple ways to cut their bell peppers to avoid the bits flying all around.

If you are one of them, worry no more as a viral social media hack is just the answer to this widely-shared culinary problem. Shared by popular content creator Lori Conway, this bell pepper-cutting hack has amassed over 243k views and 4100 likes.

But, what does this hack involve? In the video, Conway started by slicing the stem of a red bell pepper. Next, rather than cutting it the usual way, she placed the pepper upside down. Now, she made three pieces from it along the edges already present on the vegetable. This method resulted in three equal pieces from the bell pepper with the seeds separating out entirely. And voila! The bell pepper was chopped neatly without its seeds making any mess in the kitchen.

While some users were left amazed, others were not so impressed. They took to the comment section to express their views about this bell pepper chopping hack.

While one user wrote, “Oh wow! I definitely needed this in my life!!” another user commented, “We like to just push in the stem until it falls inside and then cut it open. That way you lose less at the top and can spread it out flat with one quick cut —try it!”

“But you’re wasting the top of the pepper,” a user wrote. “This makes me want to go buy a bunch of peppers and try this out,” said another.

Earlier, a Twitter video shared by a user showed us how to cut open a pomegranate without wasting the juice, spilling it all over yourself, and making a mess. Take a look.

Many users commented about how they didn’t know about it. However, some others expressed how it may not work with Afghan pomegranates which are a lot juicier. “Ours is more complex and full of juice. Believe me, I’ve tried it,” said a user.
