Everyone’s fitness journey is different. While some may need to work out extremely hard and also restrict certain food items to reach their goals, for others, it can be comparatively easier. But no amount of hard work ever goes to waste, and after a point, changes tend to become visible. As such, Krystle Dsouza’s journey is no different.
Giving us a peek into her transformation journey, the actor — who is currently on cloud nine after losing four inches from her waist — shared before and after pictures on Instagram. “Finding the balance between fitness and well-being has been a journey worth taking. Thanks, @askknatural for helping me achieve this transformation and a renewed sense of conviction. Grateful for this empowering journey from UK 12 to UK 8 and a healthier version of myself,” the Chehre actor wrote on Instagram.
But, some fans were quick to point out that she looked “the same”, with one even commenting, “This looks so fake. Is it only for the brand deal”. But Krystle was not up for criticism as she clarified, “Not at all. Pls scroll back to 2021/22, my whole structure is different. I usually wouldn’t have responded but I give a lot of regard to the hard work me and my trainer put in to reach here.”
Defending Krystle Dsouza, her trainer Yash Patel wrote, “No need to respond because humans generally envy things they can’t have. You have done a great job and we are proud of you.” @krystledsouza
Just like Dsouza, you can retain muscle mass while losing maximum fat, resulting in a toned and defined physique.
A toned physique is possible through fat loss, said Varun Rattan, NASM Certified Nutrition Coach. “Fat loss refers exclusively to loss of fat mass as against weight loss, which can include losing weight from muscle, water, and even bones,” added Rattan.
How to achieve a toned physique?
“Limiting processed food consumption while increasing physical activity and strength training exercises can lead to healthy and sustainable fat loss for majority of people,” described Rattan.
According to Suvidhi Jain, lifestyle, exercise and nutrition coach, it is essential to engage in regular exercise that includes a mix of strength and resistance training in addition to cardio. “It is important to work all your muscles, ensuring they are mobilised and stimulated to build muscle mass. You can aid muscle growth by consuming good proteins in your diet,” said Jain.
Jain also stressed that strength training not only builds muscle, it also strengthens connective tissues which helps improve range of motion, and joint mobility.
