Shalini Passi has become the latest sensation, thanks to her charismatic presence on Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. Known for her bold personality, and unapologetically glamorous lifestyle, Shalini has piqued public curiosity, particularly regarding her intriguing love story with husband Sanjay Passi.
In a candid interview with journalist Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Shalini shared how their love story unfolded. Sanjay’s cousins saw Shalini at the wedding of a common friend. She was singing and dancing, “I was singing and dancing; my voice was better then,” she said. “They asked me, ‘Are your parents coming to the mehendi ceremony?’ I casually told them, ‘No, my parents will come in the evening.’” Little did she know, they had already decided Shalini was the perfect match for their cousin, Sanjay.
The evening turned out to be life-changing. Sanjay’s family arrived at the wedding, hearing glowing recommendations from their relative who had spotted Shalini earlier. “It was an arranged marriage, but my husband is my universe,” Shalini said in an earlier interview with Brut India.
Shalini met Sanjay under the conditions she’d firmly laid out—no smoking, drinking, or gambling. “I wanted someone on the same wavelength as me,” she said. “Sanjay and his family are incredible people, and everything just clicked.”
At just 20 years old, Shalini married Sanjay and became a mother by 21. Reflecting on the experience, she shared, “It was young, but I think the universe knew better. I had so much energy and excitement at that age, and it made parenting an amazing adventure.” She fondly told Barkha, “I was always more excited in toy stores than my son Robin!”
Shalini, now a prominent design collector, art patron, and fashion influencer, lives a life that blends creativity and elegance. Married to Sanjay Passi, chairman of Pasco Group, a leading Tata Motors-certified dealership network in North India, the couple enjoys an enviable social standing.
Since her life was showcased on the Karan Johar-produced show, fans have been captivated by Shalini’s larger-than-life persona, impeccable taste, and ability to charm everyone she meets.
