Vietnam PM Pham Minh Chinh arrives in India on 3-day visit

“Warm welcome to PM Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam as he arrives in New Delhi on a State Visit,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on X.

He added, “India and Vietnam share civilisational links and a longstanding friendship based on mutual trust. The visit will further strengthen our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that India views Vietnam as a key pillar of its Act East Policy and an important partner in its Indo-Pacific vision.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, including several ministers, deputy ministers, and business leaders, Chinh is set to receive a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 1.

Following this, he will visit Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Chinh on the same day.

Additionally, Chinh will meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also expected to meet the visiting leader.

The MEA noted, “India and Vietnam have age-old historical and civilizational ties, which were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership during the visit of the prime minister to Vietnam in September 2016.”
