‘Olympic Day Run’ in the valley on June 23

The 10 km run will begin from Bakshi Stadium and will conclude at SKICC.

Jammu and Kashmir department of Youth Services and Sports,in association with its counterpart at the Centre and JK Olympic Association,is all set to hold an ‘Olympic Day Run’ in the valley this week.

Nearly 3,000 people are expected to participate in the 10 kilometre run on June 23,which will be flagged off by the Chief Minister,Omar Abdullah,from Bakshi Stadium,said Jammu and Kashmir Sports Minister,R S Chib on Monday.

The run will conclude at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC),on the banks of Dal lake,where the participants will be received by Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken,Chib said.

“The idea of organising such activities is to channelise the energies of youth in the right direction,” he said.
