Eight houses damaged in Manipur bomb explosion

There was no report of any injury or casualty.

Eight houses were damaged when a powerful bomb allegedly planted by militant organisations exploded at Telipati area near here,official sources said today.

There was no report of any injury or casualty,they said.

The bomb,allegedly planted by unidentified militants at a roadside at Telipati area in Imphal East district,exploded at around 10 pm last night. Eight houses were damaged in the explosion,the sources said.

This is the second bomb explosion in two days as on Thursday night another bomb planted by militants had exploded at Mongsangei area of Imphal West district.

Security has already been tightened across Manipur in view of the reported call given by all insurgent and militant outfits in the state for boycott of Republic Day celebrations.

All police and security posts have been asked to step up patrolling and frisking of passers-by to detect movement of militants.
