A 23-year-old NEET aspirant from Delhi died by suicide here in Kota Thursday morning.
The body of Roshan Sharma was found in the bushes in the Benchmark area of Kota.
Citing an initial investigation, police said the 23-year-old died by consuming poison. They said no suicide was found at the spot except a mobile phone through which police informed his family members of the incident. Roshan was preparing for NEET and was staying in the Naya Nohra area. The next NEET exam is scheduled on May 4, 2025.
Kunadi police station SHO Arvind Sharma said, “The body was found in the bushes. His family has been informed and they have left for Kota. According to the family, the boy was tense due to the NEET exam.”
According to family members, Sharma told them that he would neither take the NEET exam nor return to Delhi and would consume poison to end his life, the officer said.
He was to take the NEET exam next month.
The body has been kept in the mortuary of the MBS Hospital here, and the post-mortem would be conducted after the arrival of his parents from Delhi, police said.
This is the second suicide in the last 48 hours and 12th suicide since January in Kota. On Tuesday, a 18-year-old student from Bihar had died by suicide.
