Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice on Wednesday called for a “siege” on the Indian consulate in Canada’s Vancouver on September 18, urging Indian-Canadians to defer their visit to the consulate on Thursday for their own safety.
In a notice released by the US-based Khalistani outfit, SFJ issued a threat to the Indian consulates in Canada and accused them of running a spy network in the country to target Khalistan supporters. The statement released by SFJ says, “Two years ago — 18 September 2023 — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Parliament that the Indian agents’ role was under investigation in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.”
“Two years on, Indian Consulates continue to run a spy network and surveillance targeting Khalistan Referendum campaigners,” it added.
Sikhs For Justice, which was banned in India in 2019, also released a poster showing Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Patnaik with a target on his face, titled ‘New face of India’s Hindutva terror in Canada.’
The notice said, “Pro Khalistan Sikhs – torchbearers of Shaheed Nijjar – will lay a historic SIEGE of the Consulate to demand accountability for Indian state-directed espionage and intimidation on Canadian soil.”
According to the notice, the Khalistani outfit has announced a 12-hour siege of the Indian consulate, from 8 am to 8 pm, local time.
The outfit also said that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police offered “witness protection” to on Inderjeet Gosal, a Khalistani leader, after major pressure by Indian spies.
