Miss Kerala 2019, runner-up die in road accident; 2 others injured

Police said Kabeer, 25, from Thiruvananthapuram, and Shajan, 26, were travelling to the latter's native place Thrissur with two friends.

Miss Kerala 2019 Ansi Kabeer, and Miss Kerala 2019 runner-up Anjana Shajan died when their car hit a tree at the NH bypass in Kochi Sunday midnight. Kabeer was also Miss South India 2021 and the women were returning from a modelling assignment.

Police said Kabeer, 25, from Thiruvananthapuram, and Shajan, 26, were travelling to the latter’s native place Thrissur with two friends. One of the friends was critically injured, while the other, who was driving the car, sustained minor injuries.

ThiruvananthapuramOn hearing about Kabeer’s death, her mother Raseena allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison. She was admitted to a hospital.
