Seven out of nine dead have been identified and postmortems were conducted. The bodies were also handed over to their relatives for last rites in Punjab.
The gates of Pandoh dam have been shut to prevent chances of bodies flowing into the turbulent Beas river, Kanwar said. A general alert has also been sounded and people have been asked to remain vigilant and inform the administration or police if they spot a missing person or a body.
Reports from the accident site revealed that condition of the road was bad and that could also be the cause of the accident. The bus driver, who is among the survivors, could not spot a mountain cliff. The bus fell in the river after hitting against the cliff.
