Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Vice President CP Radhakrishnan at the Vice-President’s Enclave in New Delhi.
Radhakrishnan, who assumed office earlier this month, held a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister.
PM Modi posted pictures with the V-P and wrote: “Called on Vice President Thiru CP Radhakrishnan Ji and had an insightful discussion with him on a wide range of subjects.”
Sharing the update on X, the Vice President’s Secretariat said, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with Hon’ble Vice-President Shri C P Radhakrishnan at the Vice-President’s Enclave today.”
Radhakrishnan won the Vice Presidential election earlier this month, securing 452 votes, while opposition nominee B Sudershan Reddy received 300 votes. He succeeded Jagdeep Dhankhar who vacated his post citing health reasons.
Exuding confidence that CP Radhakrisnan will be an outstanding Vice-President, PM Narendra Modi had said after his election win that Radhakrishnan “will strengthen our Constitutional values and enhance Parliamentary discourse”. Modi met and congratulated Radhakrishnan after his victory as well.
