Lucknow University reserves 20 pct seats for girls

Of the total number of University students,there are around 60 per cent girls at present.

The Lucknow University has decided to reserve 20 per cent seats for girl students in the varsity and its associated colleges,officials said on Wednesday.

“The admission committee of the University has decided to implement 20 per cent reservation for girls in admissions to different courses at under-graduate and post graduate level,” University Registrar G P Tripathi said.

The decision was taken unanimously at a meeting held on Tuesday.

Of the total number of University students,there are around 60 per cent girls at present,he said,adding that after the implementation of reservation the number of girl students is likely to rise.
