The British Council, in partnership with HSBC India, Thursday launched the ‘Climate Skills: Seeds for Transition India’ project that aims to equip youngsters with knowledge and skills on climate change and its challenges.

The project seeks to engage 2,000 youngsters and 300 master trainers, and is expected to run from July this year to February 2026.

Internationally, the project works with 18 to 30-year-olds in five countries — India, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, and Vietnam.

According to the British Council, the  project “equips young people around the world with fundamental skills they need to be part of the transition from high carbon to low carbon economies…the programme trains local community organisations to better support young people who are disproportionately affected by climate change. Participants come from communities that encounter major systemic challenges in contributing to the growth of their country’s green economy.”
