Australia’s Macquarie University announces VC’s international scholarship for UG, PG students

Australia’s Macquarie University has announced a Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship for all undergraduate and postgraduate students. Under the scholarship, a tuition fee rebate of up to AUD $50,000 will be on offer for outstanding students aspiring to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Australia.

The students can receive up to AUD $40,000 through the India early acceptance scholarship, in addition $10,000 via the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, which can reduce the cost of their studies.

The university, in a release, said any international student pursuing an  undergraduate or postgraduate degree on campus must fulfil the following requirements to be considered for the grant of the scholarship:

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows: applicants must be full-time international students beginning either an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree (excluding Graduate Certificates).

To qualify, postgraduate applicants must have achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) equivalent of 65, while undergraduate applicants must hold a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) equivalent of 85. Additionally, students must commence their studies in the session and year specified in their scholarship offer letter.

Through the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, we hope to open new pathways for Indian students to achieve academic and professional excellence at Macquarie University”

Macquarie University has continued its rapid rise in global rankings, placing 9th in Australia and 166th internationally in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
