NLSAT 2026: NLSIU Bengaluru begins registration at nls.ac.in; exam in April

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru has opened the registration window for the National Law School Admissions Test (NLSAT 2026). The application link is now live on the official website, nls.ac.in, and candidates can submit their forms until March 23, 2026.

NLSIU will use the NLSAT 2026 for admissions to multiple programmes, including the 3-year LLB (Hons), NLS BA (Hons), 2-year Master’s programmes in Public Policy, and PhD programmes across law, social sciences, humanities, and public policy. The university has in its admission notice has stated that only candidates who qualify as per the admission criteria will be considered for entry to these programmes.

The entrance exam is scheduled for April 26, 2026, and will be conducted in a single shift from 10 am to 12:30 pm across designated centres nationwide. 

The test will be held in pen-and-paper mode for 150 minutes and will consist of Part A and Part B. While Part A will assess comprehension, current affairs, and critical reasoning (both legal and logical), Part B will focus on legal aptitude reasoning and analytical ability.

Candidates will earn 1 mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect or unanswered response, as per the official guidelines.
