Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2023 Declared: Ananya KA, a national level volleyball player has not just topped but also secured 100 per cent in the commerce stream in the second Pre-University board examination, results of which were released today by the Karnataka Pre-University education department.
She is the eldest daughter of Ashoka KE, a former CRPF jawan who presently works as a security guard and Nalini G, a government school teacher. She is a student of Alva’s PU College in Moodbidri of Dakshina Kannada district. Ananya stayed in the college hostel. She is the only student to secure 600 out of 600 in the Karnataka 2nd PUC examination of 2022-23.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Nalini G said, “She got into a sports hostel at a very young age and she studied in Hassan till Class 10 (Class 8 to 10). While she was good at sports, she also excelled in studies and secured 609 marks (out of 625) in Class 10. We did not want to send her to any other hostel as Covid-19 situation was getting worse. But she managed to get a seat in Alva’s under sports quota as she had represented the state. The results have made us happy.”
Ananya, who spoke to The Indian Express, said that she had to give up volleyball after she sustained a spine injury. “I had to give up sports and focus on my studies. I was anticipating a top 10 rank, but I didn’t expect first rank or 600 out of 600,” she says.
She now wants to pursue a company secretary course in future and took commerce stream for the same. A singer and sportsperson, Ananya KA is now all set to return home from the hostel after a gap of five years.
