Students who are allotted seats in the first round of counselling will be required to accept the seats by uploading all asked documents including the educational certificates, and caste certificates (if mentioned) among others. Next, students will have to pay the seat acceptance fees within the due date. Take a printout of the final locked choices as it will be required for submission during reporting.
Students who want to withdraw their seats can do so from the second round and up to the fifth round of seat allocation before the last round of seat allocation.
– It is the candidate’s responsibility to login to the portal and check if a seat is allocated in a given round of seat allocation. No separate intimation of seat allocation will be given to the candidate. Failing to complete all the steps of “Online Reporting”, within the specified timeline of the same round of
cancellation of allocated seat and the candidate will NOT be able to participate in the subsequent rounds, if any.
– A candidate who has been allocated a seat needs to download the “Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip” which has information regarding the Seat Allotment and steps to be followed for seat confirmation by the candidate.
– Rs 17,500 for candidates with the category tag SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD and Rs 35,000 for all other candidates (the fee includes Rs 5,000 processing charges). The seat acceptance fee, excluding processing charges of Rs 5,000, will be adjusted against the admission fee.
– At the time of document verification, if the document verification officer raises any query, the candidate must respond in online mode (through candidate portal) within the stipulated time. Failure to
respond to the query(ies) on time will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat and the candidate will no longer be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of JoSAA, if any.
– If a candidate, who accepts a seat in NIT+ System by “Online Reporting” in a particular round of seat allocation, is subsequently allocated a seat in an IIT for the first time in further rounds of seat allocation (if any), then the documents and the eligibility criteria of such candidates will be verified AGAIN by the IITs.
– Seat allocation in an IIT in subsequent round(s) (if any) automatically replaces the earlier accepted seat in the NIT+ System, and the candidate now proceeds with the newly allocated seat. The candidate is NOT required to cancel the earlier seat; doing so would be treated as a rejection of the seat and the candidate would be excluded from the process.
– The JEE (Advanced) 2024 qualified PwD candidates with a valid UDID card indicating permanent disability are NOT required to report physically for verification. However, even if the candidates have UDID card indicating permanent disability, they will be required to appear for physical verification
if online verification of UDID card fails.
– The JEE (Main) 2024 qualified PwD candidates with a valid UDID card indicating permanent disability are NOT required to report physically for verification. However, even if the candidates have UDID card indicating permanent disability, they will be required to appear for physical verification if either (i) online verification of UDID card fails or (ii) the candidate was allotted seat in an academic program with special restrictions given in the JoSAA portal; in such cases these candidates are required to appear for physical verification even if they have a UDID card indicating any other permanent disability.
– Physical verification for Persons with less than 40 per cent disability and having difficulty in writing and have availed compensatory time and/or services of scribe (only for IITs).
JoSAA second mock allotment list will be displayed on June 17 and will be based on the choices filled by the students till June 16 (5 pm).
