Seventeen-year-old Aditya has bagged the second rank in the Common Rank List (CRL) at the recently declared Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 result. He has obtained 346/360 marks. He appeared from the IIT Delhi zone.
The Delhi boy is aiming for a seat at IIT Bombay or IIT Delhi in the computer science engineering branch. Talking to indianexpress.com, he said he was clear about engineering since his childhood. His passion in physics, fascination for inventions, experiments, and model preparations have been a motivation. His decision was influenced by his elder sister who is currently pursuing a BTech in the electrical engineering branch at IIT Delhi.

Like every engineering aspirant, his dream was also to pursue his degree from an IIT, but the AIR 2 soon realised that JEE Advanced needs a more attentive approach, and the prime requirement is time management.
“Covering the complete syllabus well on time was a big challenge. I wanted time for proper revision and practice,” he said.
Talking about his preparation strategy, he said he was enrolled in a four-year classroom programme at FIITJEE’s Punjabi Bagh, Delhi centre. It was his first attempt at JEE Advanced. He appeared in both JEE Main sessions this year. His final JEE Main score was 185.
The pressure to perform and do the best was immense, he said. Further, coaching helped him streamline his preparation and compare his performances in the mock test.
“Teachers gave selective materials on JEE syllabus which helped me perform better and achieve this feat,” the AIR 2 said adding that regular exercise, meditation and short breaks during study helped him stay calm and focused. His sister, an engineering student, helped him at each step of his JEE preparation.
Aditya said that this year, the JEE Main and JEE Advanced papers were comparatively easier than the previous years.
“Appearing in the actual JEE Advanced exam itself was a memorable experience. I appeared in a large number of mock tests which helped me learn how to maintain composure during the exam which indeed helped on the final day,” he said.
The AIR 2 is right now in Malaysia for the Asian Physics Olympiad. The 24th Asian Physics Olympiad is being held from June 3 to 10. He appeared for the Class 12 board exam this year from a CBSE school. He scored 95.6 per cent in Class 12 and 96.8 per cent in Class 10.
