Gujarat Board Class 10 results out: 64.62% students pass, Surat records highest pass percentage

GSEB Gujarat Board SSC 10th Result 2023: The Class 10 result of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) declared Thursday recorded a pass percentage of 64.62 per cent, a marginal decline of 0.56 per cent from the previous year.

Out of the 73,4898 regular students, 47,4893 cleared the Class 10 examination held in March. Once again, girls outshone boys with 70.62 per cent pass percentage. Boys secured a pass percentage of 59.58 per cent.

The number of schools with 100 per cent pass percentage declined from 294 the previous year to 272 this year, while schools with no one passing the exams increased from 121 to 157 within a year.

While students securing the highest A1 grade halved from 12,090 to 6,111, students who failed in two subjects increased by 15,165 from 2022 to 2023. Students with A2 and B1 grades too reduced this year.

Out of 958 total examination centres, Kumbhariya centre in Banaskantha district recorded the highest result of 95.92 per cent, while Utavali centre in Narmada district recorded the lowest of 11.94 per cent.

Sndhi medium, with 5 students who appeared in Class 10 exams, secured 100 per cent results. Among the three major mediums-Gujarati, English and Hindi- the English medium recorded the highest pass percentage of 81.90, followed by Hindi with 64.66 per cent and Gujarati 62.11 per cent.

The subject-wise results showed students in English (first language) recorded a pass percentage of 95.06 per cent, followed by Standard Maths with 94.99 per cent and Sanskrit (second language) 90.89 per cent. Students secured the lowest pass percentage of 67.72 per cent in Science.

Mathematics emerged as the subject with the highest number of top scorers. The highest number of students (671) secured 100 marks in Basic Maths followed by Standard Maths, in which 197 students got the perfect score of 100.

The Dahod district has the highest number of schools, 22, with a 0 per cent result, an increase of 12 schools compared to last year.
