
As the Opposition announced the name of its new alliance I.N.D.I.A, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma responded by saying that the BJP is standing for Bharat, and the British had named the country India. Sarma then became the first BJP leader to change his Twitter bio to reflect this line of attack: from “Chief Minister of Assam, India” to “Chief Minister of Assam, BHARAT”.
‘Modest’ Minister
While Venkaiah Naidu, who was the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister before being elected as the country’s Vice President, was known for coining acronyms and catchy names for government policies and schemes, the incumbent, Hardeep Puri, on Tuesday chose to be “modest” when speaking of the urban sector. Puri, speaking at an event, said Naidu used a “somewhat more grand term” — “urban renaissance” — to describe the changing scene in cities. But “being a more modest person, I choose to call it urban rejuvenation because we are still in the world of facts and figures…”

After holding an extensive meeting with representatives from leading OTT platforms on content regulation and other issues, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur also announced the institution of the Best Web Series Award, to be presented for the first time at IFFI-Goa this year.
