A day after Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi made an appearance at the INDIA bloc rally in Delhi, the party on Monday put out a short video of her at the Ramlila Maidan, including glimpses of her with Sunita Kejriwal, on its official social media handles with a caption “forgiveness is the virtue of the brave. There’s no one like her”. The party did not elaborate but handles sympathetic to the Congress had been praising her for showing up at the rally, forgetting Arvind Kejriwal’s attacks and barbs on her when the Congress-led UPA was in power.

After the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) exited the INDIA bloc and joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress found an ally in Lok Dal that was founded by former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. Lok Dal is headed by Sunil Singh and the party has its head office in Lucknow. Singh also attended the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, at a press conference on Saturday, had called the Sunil Singh-led party as “asli Lok Dal”.
